Freshman Parent and Family Program

Parents and family members play an important role in student success at Cal Poly Pomona. The Parent/Family/Guest Orientation is an optional one-day program that provides the necessary tools and information needed to support student success. This program is separate from the student program and is designed specifically for parents and family members.

Students can register their guest when they register for Orientation on BroncoDirect. Then, at the start of Orientation, guests will check in with your student in front of Encinitas Lawn (Bldg. 20).

Cost

$50 per person above the age of 10 and you must register in advance.

What Will I Do?

At the Parent/Family Program you will receive presentations/workshops about:

  • Welcome from members and leaders of the campus community

  • Financial Aid and Money Matters

  • Student Health Services

  • Career Center

  • Campus Safety

  • Academic Opportunities

  • Campus Involvement

  • Staying on Track to Graduation

  • Campus Services and Resources

What Will I Receive?

  • Campus Tour

  • Parent Resource Guide
  • Morning refreshments, lunch, and dinner

  • Visit to the Campus Bookstore

Dates

Freshmen Parent/Family members will attend on Day One of your student’s Freshmen 3-day/2-night Orientation program. For the Weekend Freshmen Program (July 31st - August 2nd), guests will attend Day 3 of the students Orientation program.
