SECURITY DURING THE BREAK

Housing Facilities would like to remind residents to make sure their room/suite is secure by making sure the window(s) and door(s) are pulled shut/locked before leaving for the holiday. Please take out your trash so as to not attract any pests and to prevent unpleasant odors upon your return to campus. Keep your building safe. Please do not prop doors open or let any unescorted people in. Remember safety is a community effort.

HOUSING PAYMENT DEADLINE

Winter payments were due Monday, December 2, 2013. ALL residents should check their Bronco Direct account for outstanding balances. An unpaid balance may jeopardize your Winter 2014 classes and your current and future Housing status.
Failure to pay outstanding balances by December 2, 2013, will result in a $50.00 administrative late charge AND meal plan privileges will be suspended without compensation of lost meals.
Please contact the Cashiers office at 909-869-2010 or the Housing office at 909-869-3307 with any questions regarding your account.

ATTENTION FINANCIAL AID RECEIPIENTS

All Financial Aid recipients are responsible for paying any balance NOT covered by financial aid on or before the December 2, 2013. If you have any questions or are not sure of the amount due, please contact the Cashier’s Office at 909-869-2010 or the Financial Aid office at 909-869-3700. Before you cash any financial aid checks or refunds, please be sure to check your BroncoDirect account and verify that all of your housing fees have been paid for the quarter. You are always held responsible for meeting payment deadlines and assuring that financial aid covers your fees. Please refer to the 13-14 Housing Cost Tables for information about deadline and fees. If you have questions regarding your balance, please contact the Housing Office at (909) 869-3307.

Packages for Halls/CRS residents will continue to be accepted at the Housing Office, Bldg. 59 and can be picked up Monday-Friday through December 23, 2013. Packages for Suite residents will continue to be accepted at the Satellite Office, Bldg. 54 and can be picked up Monday-Friday until 10pm December 13, 2013.

PROTECT YOUR MAIL AND PACKAGES!

‘Tis the season to shop online and to send and receive gifts through the mail. Here are some helpful hints:

If you are buying something of value, make sure you purchase from a reputable source and keep receipts. If your item is over $100.00, it might be worth it to purchase the extra insurance to cover the cost of your item. Don’t send bulky or expensive items in envelopes. Mail is usually sorted by machines and these items can be crushed or fall out of damaged envelopes. Send these types of items in boxes or bubble packs and use special handling through USPS, FEDEX or UPS.
If you receive damaged packages, always keep the packaging, tracking information and take pictures. These items will help you if you need to file a claim with the courier or sender.
Tell your friends and family to follow these precautions as well! Front Desks at any other residential buildings cannot accept outgoing FEDEX or UPS packages.

RENEW YOUR HOUSING CONTRACT FOR NEXT YEAR!

NO LONGER ATTENDING CAL POLY POMONA FOR WINTER AND SPRING?

If you no longer attending Cal Poly Pomona for the winter and spring, please go to the Housing Office immediately to cancel your contract. Cancellation of your contract is not automatic, even if you are notified or were disqualified by the University. All students not attending Cal Poly for next quarter are responsible for submitting their cancellation request directly with University Housing Services. Checking out without prior approval does not release you from your contract and you will be held financially responsible for the remainder of the contract agreement.

EMPTY SPACE IN YOUR ROOM/SUITE?

Please do not spread out into any vacant spaces. The Housing Office will continue to place new residents in available empty spaces and you may be receiving a new roommate/suitemate for Fall Quarter. The Housing Facilities staff will be cleaning spaces that have been vacated or have been vacant during the start of the quarter. If new residents move in and your belongings prevent our staff from cleaning or prevent a new resident from moving in, you will be assessed a charge.

MEAL PLAN CHANGE REQUESTS

Residents interested in changing their meal plan for the Winter must submit their request online through the Housing StudentWeb https://housing.csupomona.edu/Studentweb/ starting Monday, November 18, 2013.
