Advanced Communication for Management, Incorporated, (ACM, Inc.)
ACM, Inc., is a communications research and consulting firm which focusses
on current problems facing business and management today. ACM's mission
is to assist other organizations and individuals to understand communication
issues which affect the efficiency and effectiveness of their organizations
and employees.
As an associate of ACM, you will be in one of four units formed to address
current communication problems. These units have several specific tasks:
1. Organize the unit and appoint positions such as:
- Team Leader
- Director of Customer Services and Marketing
- Sales Representative and Credit Manager
- Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Control Manager
- Accountant/Bookkeeper
- Director of Research and Publications

2. Develop a unit identity and communication guidelines, including: a
name, logotype, letterhead, calling cards, presentation template, home page
and newsletter.
3. In consultation with the CEO, select a problem to research and report
to our clients. In accomplishing this task, each unit will:
- Research and present the findings to our organization prior to presentation
to clients.
- Prepare a binder containing research documentation, presentation materials
- (storyboard, outline, slide show and homepage disk file, handouts and other
- media used), experiential activity, problem-solving discussion guidelines,
- printout of homepage, feedback forms, and one short essay, based on the
- presentation,for each unit member.
- Deliver a presentation of about one to one and one-half hours which will
- convey effectively the results of the research.
4. Communicate with others via the internet in interpersonal communications
and on a simulation following the SimBiz instructions.
5. The following assignments will be completed by each unit member on an
individual basis:
- A formal communications research paper which attempts to solve a significant
- problem and includes: (1) A proposal and evidence (printouts of database
- research on an appropriate topic; (2) A bound formal research paper (20
- or more pages); (3) An oral presentation (8-12 minutes) of the research
- using visuals, proper dress, etc.
- Individual work as found in your in-basket, e-mail, or otherwise assigned.
- Performance review of accomplishments (examination).
- Job Search Portfolio as elsewhere described.
