The Portfolio of exhibits, Volume II of this self-study, in its material
and electronic expressions, is the only "place" in the self-study
where the traditional nine Standards retain their individuality, and
this, only as summaries in Appendix A9 or as documents relating to a
theme or to the general theme of the self-study. Most of the Portfolio
is given over to exhibit of documents vital to the articulation of arguments
and assessments made in the study, in five Annexes and five Appendices.
The most significant documents we have used and that we consider to
represent the progress and status of the university are listed within
the Appendices. These are not the only sources from which we have drawn.
Additional materials supportive of the thematic self-study, materials
developed for it, or ancillary assessments are contained in the Annexes.
Pieces too large to include in the Annexes or Appendices in their entirety
are represented by a title or summary sheet in Volume II, and displayed
in the Team Room or linked to the electronic version of this report.
Additional supporting documents are collected in Theme-identified Support
Files in the Team Room. Thus, the Portfolio and the Team Room files
represent the major portion of evidence considered and materials generated
for the self-study. The Executive Summary and Readers Guide to
the Self-Study have been published in a separate volume, not reprinted
here.
The Portfolio is organized around the themes, like the self-study,
so that documents supporting Theme One are in Annex B and Appendix B;
those supporting Theme Two are in Annex C and Appendix C; Theme Three
Annex D and Appendix D; Theme Four Annex E and Appendix E. The General
Annex and Appendix, those exhibits pertinent to the entire study, are
classified as A.
