The Animal Health Science Program (AHS – Vet Tech) at Cal Poly Pomona is currently seeking: 

PART-TIME/TEMPORARY LECTURERS

TEACHING DUTIES:  Provide instruction in the Animal & Veterinary Sciences Department for undergraduate courses complimentary to the Animal Science and Animal Health Science curricula within the College of Agriculture; including courses in veterinary anesthesia, surgical assisting, laboratory procedures, radiology, parasitology, clinical pathology, clinical anatomy, and pharmacology.  Graduates of the AHS Major matriculate with a BS in Animal Health Science, the only four year Bachelor of Science AVMA Accredited degree for Veterinary Technology in California, and one of 17 similar programs nationwide; successful graduates qualify to sit for the California state exam for Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have at least a Baccalaureate and be an RVT; however, a Masters and RVT or a DVM is preferred. Prior college or clinical teaching, and lesson planning experience, is desirable.

APPOINTMENTS: Compensation is competitive and based on qualifications. Part-time temporary lecturer appointments are usually made for one academic quarter only (approximately 11 weeks) and can be scheduled to fit your current schedule. Availability of at least 2 days per week is preferred.  Incumbents may be reappointed to subsequent quarters contingent upon funding and favorable performance evaluations.
