In observance of Veterans Day, the President’s Veterans Services Initiative (VSI) invites you to attend the 2009 Cal Poly Pomona “Veterans Celebration: Honoring All Who Served” on November 10, 2009, 12 p.m. in the University Quad. The keynote speaker for this event will be Dr. Liam Corley, Cal Poly Professor of English and Lieutenant in the United States Navy Reserve. Dr. Corley spent the 2008-09 academic year in Afghanistan, serving on a NATO base with the International Security Assistance Force. Read more about Dr. Corley in Panorama.

On November 12, 2009, Dr. Harold Martin, Professor of Psychology at Pasadena City College, Vietnam Veteran and author of the “Boots to Books: Adjustment in the Classroom” program will be a featured speaker at “Students Who Served: Transitioning our Veterans”. This event will be held in BSC, Ursa Minor from 9 a.m. until noon, and will include a student-veteran panel. Read more about Dr. Martin on the event flyer.
On November 12, 2009, Mr. Patrick O’Rourke, Director of Veterans University at Cal State Long Beach and retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel will be a featured speaker at “Students Who Served: Transitioning our Veterans”.
