California State Polytechnic University, Pomona is grateful for the contributions made by members of the United States Armed Services, both at home and abroad. As a veteran-friendly campus, we seek to provide:

  • a dynamic and supportive academic community in which to learn;
  • timely and accessible academic programs and services that meet individual needs; and
  • hands-on opportunities for leadership, academic and personal growth.

Serving those who serve, Cal Poly Pomona stands committed to providing excellent academic programs that assist military personnel and their dependents in meeting their academic objectives, from admission through graduation.

Cal Poly Pomona is Southern California’s Polytechnic University – one of only six nationwide - where a philosophy of hands-on learning is enthusiastically embraced.

Cadet Christopher Lopez and Christian Gray salute the flag during the presentation of the colors during Veterans Day observance at Cal Poly Pomona.

The Post-9/11 G.I. Bill, which went into effect this Fall, opens up greater access for student veterans pursuing higher education. To better understand the unique needs of our veterans, the President's Veterans Services Initiative (VSI) held a Veterans Day observance on November 10th, and a veterans workshop entitled "Students Who Served: Transitioning our Veterans" on November 12. The keynote speaker for the Veterans Day observance was Professor Liam Corley, who is also a naval reservist, and the workshops were lead by Dr. Harold F. Martin of Pasadena City College, and Pat O'Rourke, Veterans University at Cal State Long Beach. The workshop also included an informative four member student-veteran panel.
