Department of Urban and Regional Planning
The department seeks the ongoing involvement of our alumni. There are many opportunities to get involved, from the Professor for a Day program, to mentoring students, to advising us on ways to improve our curriculum. We are pleased to announce that the Urban and Regional Planning Alumni Chapter has been recertified with the Cal Poly Pomona Alumni Association. Paul Kuykendall (1994), Marla Griffin (2003), Mitra Mehta (2002) and Scott Arnold (2002) are serving on the interim board with the assistance of Professor Gwen Urey and alumnus Steve Preston. Please contact Paul at firstname.lastname@example.org or Gwen at email@example.com or call her at (909) 869-2725.
The Board reconnected with alumni, faculty and graduate students at the October 2, 2005 business meeting and barbecue at the Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies. The event culminated in a tour of the Center conducted by Center Director Dr. Kyle Brown. Click here for other upcoming events.
We enjoyed seeing you at the 2005 CCAPA conference. The photo shows some of the alumni that got together. We will look for you at the 2006 APA conference in San Antonio. Please plan on attending the all university reception at the conference. In addition, Dean Karen Hanna will be hosting a reception for planning alumni at the CCAPA conference next October in Orange County.

Informal groups of URP alums meet on an ongoing basis. The image on this page is of a group of 1972 alums who live and work in the Sacramento area. Jim Louie sent us this image of the group after a golf game and a dinner. If you have a group in your area, please let us know, and send us news and an image. We’d be happy to publicize your event and create a link to your alumni website from this page.
