Standard Format for Homework Problems
An engineer's work should be neat, well organized, and easy to follow. You are
expected to follow this standard format for completing engineering problems.
Points may be deducted for work that does not adhere to this format.
1. Use 8.5x11 paper for engineering problems.
2. The problem statement is needed before the solution ; a drawing is usually
required.
3. No credit will be given for final answers that do not show work involved.
4. Draw a box around your answers. Be sure to include units.
5. The top of each page should contain the following information from left to
right:
Course & Section # | Assignment # | Your last name, 1st name | Page #/Total
pages
6. Staple all pages of an assignment together in the upper left corner.(Back

The course presents mathematical techniques for practical applications in engineering. It basically will cover both differential equations and linear algebra, and introduce the MATLAB tools. The approach is to integrate analytical and computer solutions of problems that lead to understanding of advanced mathematical techniques. The course will provide many examples showing applications of mathematical principles using numerical and symbolic computer solutions. 4 lectures/problem-solving. (Back to Top)
