Netscape Mail Filters

I. Netscape 4.x

Setting up mail filters in Netscape 4.x is very easy. Open Netscape Mail. Click on the Edit menu and go to Message Filters...

That will open the window shown below.

To create a filter you will first click on the New button. In this example we'll filter email as it arrives and automatically delete the mail that matches our rule (or filter). To do that

·         In the Filter Name, give the filter a name, in this one, we call is Spam Filter

·         Next, you can select "Match any of the following"

·         The Sender of the message Contains @spamsite.com

·         then Delete

For this example we're going to have any mail that comes from spamsite.com deleted. Once you have entered the information as in the above example, you can press OK. This will bring up the box shown below.

Click on OK to close this screen and go back to reading mail, or click on any of the other buttons to add more filters, modify or delete any existing filters. For complete information about how to create filters please refer to the online help provided with Netscape.
