Earth Portal - A comprehensive resource for timely, objective, science-based information about the environment. It is a means for the global scientific community to come together to produce the first free, expert-driven, massively scaleable information resource on the environment, and to engage civil society in a public dialogue on the role of environmental issues in human affairs. It contains no commercial advertising and reaches a large global audience. ENERGY American Wind Energy Association - Since 1974 the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) has advocated the development of wind energy as a reliable, environmentally superior energy alternative in the United States and around the world. The site includes links about wind energy production, projects, designs, and other issues. PROTECTED AREAS US National Park Service - The official website of this federal agency. It is a gateway to thousands of maps, tables, and pages of current and historic documents. ADAPTIVE MANAGEMENT The US Department of the Interior maintains a useful website on adaptive management strategies, including several publications in pdf format.
