Welcome to Geography 101 

Geography 101 introduces students to fundamental scientific concepts, principles and methods explaining natural processes occurring near the Earth's surface. The course focuses on the portion fo the Earth's physical environment that most impinges on human activities, especially its atmosphere, lithosphere, and hydrosphere. For example, students learn about latitude and longitude, weather systems, climates, volcanoes, and earthquakes. The course is rich with detail and specialized terminology.

The textbook for this course is:
Alan Strahler and Arthur Strahler. Introducing Physical Geography, Fourth Edition. However, you can use an older edition of this textbook that includes the same materials.

The course meets a GE requirement in category B1 for non-majors.
