Now this is one of my favorite stories. Not only is the device Hannah uses for the characters monologue interesting and creative but the way he accomplishes it is rather special. This singular omniscient point of view has been used before in works of literature and lending from this single thought transitionally style he brings the reader a little closer to the main character. And although we don't get to know the character through the traditional methods, we instead learn from his actions through the story. Hannah characterizes the man as a lazy loaf who rather desperately needs a therapist. He says he is surely to die from love but I'm not sure why. He does not love her as deeply as he says else his actions would prove otherwise. Thus he must die for lack of self-love. What a pain.
