Melanie mentions that the story is told through the narrator's point of view. It seems to be a story within a story. The narrator is describing to us a memory of Michelle's story she told him many years before. Melanie says that we learn through the narrator that Michelle is somewhat of a loner, shy, and she is catholic. But, even in her shyness the narrator learns about the story about her, her teacher, and their relationship once he finds the teachers glasses. I liked how Melanie said that the narrator seemed to resemble a priest because he was receving Michelle's confession of the incident. He was the first to hear it and he will be the last person to hear it. Melanie thinks that Huddle's story is about perception and how people view things in their own way. I think this is true because even though the narrator is telling us Michelle's story it is from his own memory and is told from his own point of view.
