2012 Amelia Hammond Staff Council Scholarship Winners

Four staff members received the 2012 Amelia Hammond/Staff Council Scholarships to help them reach their education goals. Award recipients were honored on November 6th during the awards ceremony.

Amelia Hammond was a Cal Poly Pomona staff employee from 1962 to 1980. She served on Staff Council and founded the scholarship program in 1978 for employees pursuing higher education. Amelia Hammond died in June 2003, and the awards continue in her memory.

Each year, Staff Council raises scholarship funds through the Staff Council Valentine's Day drawing. Scholarship recipients must use the funds for career development or personal job improvement education that is not covered by release time or fee waiver programs. Courses may be taken at community colleges, universities or technical schools.
