Every year we invite the campus community to join Staff Council at our Holiday gathering to enjoy homemade goodies. We ask that guests bring a new stuffed toy to give to our honored guests, officers from the City of Pomona Police Dept. They carry these toys in their cars year-round in the event they respond to a call and find children distressed by the situation. Receiving a toy can go a long way in comforting these deserving kids in our community.
Please join us to spread cheer throughout the community and all year long.

Cal Poly Rose Float is in need of box tops, plastic cups and coffee cans. These are used in the decorating process for the flowers and other materials. See flyer for items.
Donations go to the Office of Student Life and Rose Float, to Marla Franco’s attention or call 3642 for pick up of large amounts.

Management and Staff Emeritus Award Nomination Form
NEW DATE FOR RECEPTION: NOVEMBER 12th
Employees with 10+ years of service who have retired between 7/1/08 – 6/30/09 may be eligible. Eligible management and staff are recognized and judged based on overall job performance, campus interactions and campus involvement. Those awarded this honor are granted certain privileges such as gratis parking, use of the University Library, free admission to campus events, use of many campus facilities, their Cal Poly Pomona email account and discount coupons. The reception for awardees will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 2-4 pm at the BSC, Centaurus Room.
Nomination forms may be submitted by the retiree, managers, or colleagues and are due by 10/12/09. For additional information, contact committee chair, Becky Pepping, x6842 or email: bapepping@csupomona.edu. Forms can be accessed by clicking on the above lin.

Staff Council was represented at this year’s Vendor Fair on March 11, 2009 from 10am-1pm. Shown are Cassandra Reyes and Patricia Duran.
The Cal Poly Pomona Staff Council has the unique distinction of having been one of the first organizations of its kind in the California State University System when the Kellogg Staff Council was formed during the 1962 – 1963 year to officially represent nonacademic employees. Today Staff Council continues as a vital campus organization comprising 40 staff members from all divisions of Cal Poly Pomona.
Since its formation, the fundamental purpose of Staff Council has been to engage in service to the campus community. Staff Council endeavors to enhance the recognition and worth of each staff member through its community service efforts.
Staff Council hosts the following activities: Service Awards, Staff Emeritus, Amelia Hammond Staff Scholarship, Holiday Gathering, Staff Appreciation Day, Outstanding Staff Awards, and the New Staff Welcome Reception. In addition, Staff Council supports various fundraisers for community outreach and offers support to the Cal Poly Pomona Rose Float Committee.
