Political Science (PLS) 201: Introduction to American Government Home Page

Welcome to the introductory course to American Government. This course is offered to students at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

• For the past four years the Department of Political Science has been assessing the use of the Internet as a means for enhancing student learning.
  
• Our research indicates that while some students are initially apprehensive about using the Internet, these concerns are easily resolved. Students may get a brief review from the faculty or visit any one of the many computer labs on campus. To identify where the labs are and their operating hours, please visit page one of the syllabus. • Please use the menu at the top of this page to secure a copy of the class syllabus, the learning contract, materials for written assignments and modules with links to materials useful in preparing for exams.
  
• The syllabus has hypertext links to the publishers of the texts we will be using this term. The publisher's site provides on-line quizzes, chapter summarizes and links to other sites on the Web.
  
• I hope that these materials will make the study of government and politics more interesting and more experiential than traditional methods.
