COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AT LARGE ACADEMIC SENATE SEAT - ALL CONSTITUENTS ARE ELIGIBLE TO RUN FOR ELECTION - Nominations are needed for an at-large Academic Senate seat in the College of Science. The term is three years and will end in June 2016. Interested faculty members should submit an Election Eligibility Form to the Academic Senate Office by the deadline. University Strategic Planning Committee -- The Executive Committee is recruiting for one member ro serve on the University Strategic Planning Committee. The current iteration of the University Strategic Plan is designed to cast broad goals and ambitious objectives, but to move in those directions requires concrete actions. To address that, the University Strategic Planning Committee has developed a matrix detailing areas to be undertaken, identifying those accountable, and providing a timeline. Thoughtful contributions from across the university community are needed to ensure that the actions are feasible, appropriate, and comprehensive. Planning is not an endpoint, but a process. Our plan must continue to develop as circumstances change and we make progress towards our objectives. The committee will met approximately once a month. Academic Programs Assessment Committee -- The Academic Programs Assessment Committee needs a representative from Agriculture. The purpose of the committee is to develop assessments for academic departments. The committee meets biweekly on Fridays from 3 – 4 p.m. Interested individuals should submit their name and a brief statement of qualifications to senate@csupomona.edu by Friday, April 26, 2013 at noon.
IRA Advisory Committee -- The IRA Advisory Committee needs one representative to serve a three-year term ending in Spring 2016. This Advisory Committee typically meets one or two times in the fall and winter quarters and up to six times during the spring quarter. Meetings are on Tuesday afternoons from 3 to 5 p.m. Interested individuals should submit their name and a brief statement of qualifications to senate@csupomona.edu by Friday, April 26, 2013 at noon.
Advising Task Force – The Advising Task Force needs members from the following constituencies – Agriculture (2), Business (2,) CEIS (1), CLASS (2), Collins(1),, ENV (1). eLearning Advisory Committee –The eLearning Advisory Committee has expanded the membership from 1 to 2 faculty members from each constituency. The Committee needs representatives from the following constituencies – Agriculture (2), Collins (1), ENV (1), Related Areas (1). For the remainder of the academic year and for 2013-2014, the Committee time commitment is: Third Thursday of each month, 12-1 pm (brown bag meeting), plus up to 2 retreats of up to 3 hours each per academic year, scheduled as needed. Improve Classroom Experience (ICE) Committee -- One faculty member is needed from each college(except Agriculture and Engineering) to serve on the Improve Classroom Experience (ICE) Committee. The objective of the committee is to allocate funds for equipment and projects that provide added value to the educational experiences of students. The focus of equipment funding shall be to replace and modernize classroom (including studio space and laboratory) equipment that directly benefits students. The term is for two years.
Additional Bottleneck Classes (ABC) Committee -- One faculty member is needed to serve on the Additional Bottleneck Classes (ABC) Committee. The purpose of the committee is to recommend high demand classes to receive funding to open additional sections. The term is for two years.

International Center Advisory Council – The International Center Advisory Council needs a representative Environmental Design. The term is until June 2014. The goal of the International Center Advisory Council is to assist the International Center in developing programs and initiatives that support Cal Poly Pomona’s strategic internationalization. The meetings will be scheduled as necessary, approximately once a month.
