The goal of the Society of Environmental Engineers is to unite the students within the Environmental Engineering discipline in order to further their networking opportunities with peers, members of the faculty and staff, and people in industry.
The Society of Environmental Engineers (SEE) is a student run organization at Cal Poly Pomona which meets every other Thursday during university hour in Building 9, Room 311. SEE invites all students who are interested in learning about environmental topics such as water resources, water treatment, wastewater treatment, and solid waste.

The environmental engineering club was granted a charter on October 16, 1987
under the name Environmental Engineering & Social Club.
The advisors for the first year were Professors Wells and Janger. Throughout the club's
20 year history, one of them has served as the advisor.
The club name was changed on May 24, 2005 to Society of Environmental Engineers.

Throughout the year, SEE provides guest speakers from the civil engineering field to discuss environmental topics to enhance students’ knowledge. Recent company speakers include Camp, Dresser, & Mckee (CDM) and Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD). The visits of these companies provided knowledge on topics such as bio-solids and new water treatment technologies. By providing speakers from companies like these, SEE also creates opportunities to begin networking with professionals already in the field that may lead to student internships and future employment.
Any student, regardless of their option, is welcome to join SEE Underclassmen are especially encouraged to join since environmental courses are often not available until junior year. This offers them an early glimpse of what environmental engineering has to offer. Membership is just $20, which includes a t- shirt and a free lunch at every meeting.
See you there!
