Cal Poly has a beautiful campus about a half-hour East of Los Angeles as one heads for the San Bernardino mountains.

Our school flies the flags of many countries. I've a special place in my heart for international students and enjoyed my years as a staff member of our International Center.

One of the largest campuses of the California State Universities. the land was once part of a ranch of the Kellogg family. To this day the land is inhabited by many interesting species of plants and animals;-)

The CLA (Classroom, Laboratory, Administration) building is among the most striking on campus and has been used a number of times as a stage setting for movies.

Nearly 14,000 students enroll in classes at Cal Poly Pomona, which has strong programs in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, and a number of very special programs including Regenerative Studies, Hospitality, Apparel, and pre-Veterinarian programs.

The peak of the CLA building serves as an "air-mark" for pilots of commercial airlines descending into the Los Angeles basin and making their way to LAX. It serves to point the way. Many years ago, Charles Lindburg, on his way to New York after his flight around the world did a circle over the Cal Poly Pomona campus as a sign of greeting.

moodle

Most of my teaching these days is done in "Moodle" -- a course authoring system along the lines of WebCT or Blackboard which I maintain on my own server. Moodle is Open Source software used by millions of students around the world in many languages.
