Road 2A, near Collegiate Peaks Wilderness.

Below: Cumberland Gap N'tl Historical Park at the junction of
KY/TN/VA, looking north-northwest perhaps.

Below: Big South Fork River and N'tl Recreation Area on KY/TN
border. Yes, the river actually looked that green.

Below: Summer 1976: Lizs learning to hike, being led by fellow Youth
Conservation Corps (YCC) member (who surely wishes not to be identified)
Both members of the "Flatlanders Club." Club cookie, Oreo Doublestuff,
used for cool glasses. (Get it??? FLATLANDERS?? DOUBLESTUFF??!?!!?) No,
Lizs was not a hippie. Next pair of jeans were Levis straight legs.
Location: Osborne Park, near Elkader, Iowa.

Pictures below were from Lizs trip to Utah (added 5/2/99):

Below: Looking toward Angel's Landing. Note chain cable at right, midway
down photo. Hang onto it for dear life!! And see that narrow ridge ahead???

Below: Here's a better shot of the ridge, dropping down 1,500 ft. on both
sides, taken from Angel's Landing.

Below: Lizs in a narrow or "slot" canyon at Zion N'tl Park, near
Checkerboard Mesa.

Below: Zion N'tl Park--West Temple (I think?) at sunrise. Behind visitor's
center. Note snow of Easter week '99 up high.

Below: Lizs and HuckFinn take a hiking break in Collegiate
Peaks Wilderness of Colorado, the valley by North Fork Clear Creek.
That's the Continental Divide in the distance.
(note: is in same vicinity as my mt bike shot, just further up into the mountains)

Below: HuckFinn and Lizs don daypacks in the rain in wilderness on
the Encampment River in remote south-central Wyoming, at a place called
Commissary Park. The sun peaked through the drizzle for this shot.

Below: Alrighty, here is a shot to dispel the myth I don't even have a
backpack. LOL!! Fall hiking with an early sunset. Yes, that's a Bogen tripod. It works
well strapped to the side of my backpack (taken with digital at arm's
length......could you tell?? LOL).
