 Merry Christmas
and
Happy New Year

from Phil's Family
Greetings. We hope you had a good year and are well considering the attacks on September 11. 2001 has been another very busy year around our house. Everyone is healthy and active.

Judy continues to work part-time at Longs and Boeing. The Boeing pharmacy continues to let her work about as much as she wants. She still enjoys her needlework class, although the program may be coming to an end. In between working she has become quite a shopper on eBay, picking up good bargains of various kinds. She continued landscaping in the back yard and it really has taken shape. Judy made two 10-day trips to Florida to visit relatives this year. Judy also made several trips to Portland to visit her sister, Linda. They always have a great time together. She continues to walk as much as she can and help with children's program at our church.

Phil is still teaching at Cal Poly Pomona, Board Chair at Eastside Christian Schools, and escaping to the mountains whenever he can. The College of Engineering finished construction on their new Laboratory and Office Complex and Phil got a nice new office (photo on right). For the third summer in a row he got to backpack in the Sierras (photo album) with friends he met on the internet. This year he got to climb Mt. Whitney at the end of a week-long backpacking trip on the Pacific Crest and John Muir Trails. The weather was great and he caught some golden trout this year.

Phil finished his fifth year as a Forest Service Volunteer in the San Gorgonio Wilderness Association which included another hike to the summit of Mt. San Gorgonio (11, 500 ft). One of Phil's passions has been keeping up the website dedicated to the memory of his uncle, U.S. Army paratrooper Staff Sergeant David Rosenkrantz, who was killed in World War II. This year he was invited to set up a display for World War II night at Debi's school: Tuffree Middle School.

Phil & Judy continued taking West Coast Swing dance lessons. However, they don't get to practice enough to feel real comfortable yet.

David continues to attend Cal Poly Pomona working on his Manufacturing Engineering Degree. He helps with the Cal Poly Universities Rose Parade float when he can, but not as much as the previous years. He is still maintaining his snake collection and dating Michelle (photo on left).

Julia is in her fifth year at Cal Poly Pomona in Marketing Management. She should graduate in June. Her current job is with a commercial insurance company. The owner is teaching her the business and she enjoys it. She has lots of friends (see picture at right - Julia with boyfriend, Matt) and still spends a lot of time helping take care of Debi so Mom & Dad can go dancing, etc.

Sarah is in her second year at Cal Poly Pomona majoring in Hotel and Restaurant Management. She likes it so far and is doing well. She is still dating her boyfriend, Adam (see picture at left), whom she has been seeing for over two years. She worked at Baskin-Robbins for about a year and is now looking for a job that will broaden her experience in the hospitality industry.

Debi is in eighth grade now and seems to like school. The teachers like her a lot and enjoy having her in class. She is in Girl's Choir this year and really enjoyed singing in the Christmas program. Debi still enjoys going to Disneyland (Debi's Disneyland page) with Dad and especially loves the parades, shows, and Christmas time (see picture at right of Debi after the Aladdin show). We upgraded our annual passes so we could visit the new themepark, Disney's California Adventure (Debi's DCA page), as well as Disneyland. At first we weren't too excited about the new park, but after we gave it a chance it really grew on us (If you are out this way, we will be glad to give you the tour!).

Phil, David, Sarah, and Debi enjoyed a 10-day vacation to the Pacific Northwest (photo album). We got to visit friends and relatives in Klamath Falls, Spokane, and Portland.

We also continue to pray for our friends and relatives spread all over the world. May God bless you and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Warmly,
Phil, Judy, David, Julie, Sarah, and Debi

We Wish You a Merry Christmas
