Farm Heuvelhof - Near Groesbeek, Holland

Benny Overhand writes, "This picture was taken on the 27th of September this year [Note: in 1999 this is the 55th anniversary of Dave's death] and it shows about the position where the Germans must have been. Rosie (according to Larry Dunlop's account) came running from the direction that the picture was taken in. The barn on the left, that you can see through the trees, is the site of where the old farm used to stand. It is here that the platoon of H.Co 504 took up their positions and in the surrounding orchard which used to be where you can see the two clumps of trees. I've found the remnants of a .30 cal. machine gun position there. Maybe Larry's old position? By the way, are you aware that Rosie is not the only person missing of H.Co near this farm. The other MIA is Gerald W. Kight. There is some question as to the fact that he was of D.Co but he is predominantly listed as H.Co and went officially MIA on the 28th."
