FRL 407 HONOR CODE

I hereby represent that I have read the University Catalog provisions pertaining to the topic of "Academic Integrity."  I hereby pledge in all matters, directly or indirectly related to my conduct in this course, to perform with the highest degree of honor and integrity.  This commitment includes, but is not limited to, a pledge of honesty in the following matters:

  1. No cheating of any kind on assignments, quizzes, exams or extra credit.
  2. All representations shall be totally truthful and shall include full disclosure of all material facts.
  3. A material fact is any fact that could affect my grade or that of another student.  (See Item Nos. 5 and 6 below.)  Material facts include, but are not limited to, my representations regarding absences, reasons for absences and the number of absences from class.
  4. All work presented as mine shall represent my individual work, reflecting my personal analytical and creative abilities.  Take-home practice exams and assignments may be discussed with others and the assistance of others may be sought.  However, the final document must represent my individual thoughts, analysis and expressions thereof.
  5. I will not encourage or tolerate cheating of any kind by another student.
  6. If I observe or "suspect cheating" of any kind by another student, I will report same to Professor Bergstrom and, if required, will confirm my report in writing.  "Suspected cheating" would be based upon my observation of facts or circumstances that (while perhaps falling short of absolute proof) would lead a reasonable person to believe it is "more likely than not" that cheating has occurred.
It is understood that a violation of any of the above representations shall justify the awarding of an "F" for a course grade and that a report of my conduct will be made to the Dean of Students.  It is further understood that an investigation of the incident could lead to probation, suspension or dismissal from the University.

By going beyond this page, I agree to abide by the terms and the intent of the FRL 407 Honor Code.
