RISE Program Application

Entry points into the RISE Program: Participants may begin their RISE participation at any of the three levels (Invitational, Intensive-Undergraduate, Intensive-Graduate), if they meet the selection criteria for the level in which they are interested. Applicants may be native CPP students (entered CPP as first-time, full-time freshmen) or transfer students.

Students may apply for admittance to the RISE Invitation for undergraduates, the Intensive-Undergraduate for juniors or seniors, or the Intensive-Graduate for MS students. Participants will be selected from the applicant pool for each program level.
All Intensive students (undergraduate and graduate) will be required to commit to TWO YEARS of research in order to give them the opportunity to obtain sufficient research data to present at a professional scientific meeting.
During year 2012-2013: New Participants will be required to commit to only one year.

You are eligible to apply to the RISE Invitation program if you are interested in learning more about research, irrespective of the career path you might take in the future. Open to any full-time freshman, sophomore, junior or senior under-represented student (African American, Hispanic, Native Indian, US Pacific Islander) who is a U.S citizen or has a permanent visa, interested in learning about research and who has a minimum 2.80 Overall and 3.00 Science Cal Poly Pomona GPA. You are also eligible to apply even if you are an undeclared major.
