Project Charter Workshops

The purpose of the Project Charter is to document an agreed upon foundation and framework for the implementation of the PeopleSoft Student Administration System. Much of the information included in the Charter is documentation that will be required for the Student Administration (SA) Readiness Assessment. The Readiness Assessment will be conducted immediately following the development of the Project Charter.

Tuesday, October 8: Workshop #1 - Foundation

1. Formulate the vision, goals and objectives.

2. Determine the project scope and assumptions.

3. Review the project organizational structure and roles and responsibilities of participants.

4. Identify the project critical success factors and their related dependencies.

Tuesday, October 15: Workshop #2 - Risk Analysis and Change Processes

1. Anticipate project risks, explore root/causes and propose mitigating actions.

2. Review the project implementation methodology.

3. Formalize the decision making process.

4. Review the process for changes in scope and requests for modification.

5. Discuss business process change approach.

1. Determine project reporting requirements, report templates, communication media and frequency.

2. Identify key user constituencies and analyze their information needs.

3. Develop the key message and case for action for the campus community.

4. Identify appropriate communication media, tools, and resources.

5. Establish communication timelines and frequencies.
