Human Resources & Finance Readiness Assessment 2000

Scope

The CSU Collaborative Management System (CMS) requires that each of the first wave campuses perform an organizational and technical readiness assessment to ensure a successful PeopleSoft implementation. Cal Poly Pomona has retained the services of PricewaterhouseCoopers to complete this process. Campus interviews will be conducted May 15 - 19, 2000. As guided by the CSU Readiness Assessment Tool, the scope of the assessment consists of three major areas related to the implementation of PeopleSoft Human Resources (HR) and Financials applications. The three areas to be reviewed include:

    1. Project Commitment. This topic includes a review of areas related to project sponsorship, communication, campus participation, end user training and funding.

    2. Project Management and Design. This topic includes reviewing areas related to the organization of the project team, project management processes and project team support.

    3. Infrastructure. This topic includes all areas related to the technical environment including information technology support, network and work station environment, help desk and training of IT staff.

    Objectives

    1. To determine the degree to which the Cal Poly Pomona campus is prepared to implement PeopleSoft Human Resources and Financial applications.

    2. To identify action steps the Cal Poly Pomona campus should take to strengthen its readiness to implement the CSU baseline software.

    Assessment Report

PricewaterhouseCoopers will finalize the results of the assessment and incorporate comments received during the workshop. Their report will follow the prescribed format and will include:

    1. Documentation of PwC's understanding of the Cal Poly Pomona project organization and plan.
