This is the fourth edition of the PeopleSoft/BroncoDirect Newsletter, and its second academic year.
We are pleased to announce that we have moved beyond the 1950s! Older terms have been removed from the term drop down list on the Course Catalog and Schedule of Classes. We should be able to keep up with the times!
Additionally, a search of the Schedule of Classes now displays up to 50 class sections (up from only 3!)
And when a professor looks at their class rosters their choices are presented in the logical way (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring of each year) rather than the PeopleSoft way (all winter terms first, etc.).
Students are being notified by email in advance of registration that they have registration holds to clear.
There are still plenty of improvements to be made. The big projects are moving Fall registration to the spring, and providing online registration for Open University students. We are also exploring the use of PeopleSoft waitlisting. We’re cautious about introducing a lot of change at once, so our plan is that the use of waitlisting will follow the Fall registration move.
Two other improvements are currently being tested: a more useful result from the Drop-In Advisees search; and a modification to the Course Catalog to permit students, faculty, and staff to view future course information (course description, unit changes, prerequisites, corequisites, etc.).
On December 10, 2007, Employee Self-Service became available to employees through BroncoDirect. Employees are now able to conveniently update their address, phone number and emergency contact information as well as view other personal information. Human Resource Services received a lot of positive feedback from employees on how easy it is to use as well as the other types of self-service they would like to have.
To improve our services, Human Resource Services plans to expand other self-service options in the future. Automation of the hiring process and development of online tools to assist in HR/Benefits-related processes are among the planned enhancements. For inquiries regarding employee self service, please email payroll@csupomona.edu.
Student Accounting & Cashiering Services is pleased to announce that IRS Forms 1098T (Tuition Statements) are now available from PeopleSoft. The 1098Ts for the calendar year 2007 will be mailed by the IRS due date of January 31, 2008. In addition, the forms will be accessible in BroncoDirect – Student Finance. Students can print their own 1098Ts by going to “Finances” and clicking on 1098T Detail Inquiry. Additional information such as Frequently Asked Questions will be available on the web: http://www.csupomona.edu/~fas/uas/1098t.htm. It is a pleasure to be able to provide this service to our students using PeopleSoft.
