This is the second edition of the PeopleSoft/BroncoDirect Newsletter.
In the first edition we previewed the PeopleSoft and BroncoDirect upgrade that took place over the last weekend in February. Since the upgrade, we have hit a record high for BroncoDirect usage – 39,022 connections in a day and 3,222 in an hour! We only count one connection per person per hour. So the one-hour record represents 3,222 different people while the 39,022 may count individuals more than once, but not within the same hour. We’ve heard from faculty, staff, and students that some of the new features are great (please give some examples if you can) and others not so great. We are working on putting student email addresses back on the class roster, and improving the information returned when you search for an advisee (yes, you should see the student’s major!).
To become expert in the new BroncoDirect, you may want to check out the online tutorials—just look on your Instructor or Advisor home page, or go directly to http://www.csupomona.edu/~ehelp/broncodirect/instructor/instructor.html (requires authentication).
Changes have been made in summer registration to support not just one 5-week session, but two. Students can now register for a first-5-week, a second-10-week, and/or a third-5-week summer session and pay fees and parking for just the session(s) they will attend. For more information on this change, see http://dsa.csupomona.edu/registrar/SummerRegistrationInfo/.
Beginning with summer registration on May 7, students will be able to pay fees with echeck as well as credit card. BroncoDirect will offer electronic check (also known as echeck or web check) as a payment option. The echeck method will electronically debit a specified checking account and ensures no credit card interest charges are incurred. Instructions on paying by echeck will be provided in BroncoDirect and through a special communication to students.
The degree audit project hit a major milestone in August. A new look for the report has been made available and degree audit is fully functional for Agriculture, Business Administration, the Collins School, Engineering, and Environmental Design. This is a huge accomplishment for the staff in the Registrar’s Office! Feedback is being sought from advisors and students to ensure that this important report on students’ progress to degree is as useful as possible.
