New for 2013! “Tasting Awards” for food partners and “People’s Choice Awards” for guests to be involved! “Wine and Canvas,” a fun experience which encourages guests in painting their own masterpieces while enjoying their favorite wines and beers.
Award-winning Chef and Cal Poly Pomona alumnus Mark Peel will make a special appearance as a celebrity tasting judge. Peel, a Collins College graduate, is a leader in the California food revolution, co-founding the La Brea Bakery, and establishing Campanile, a Los Angeles restaurant that served market-inspired cuisine for 23 years. Peel is now working on Campanile LAX which will open in July in Terminal 4.

Three of the Tasting Award Judges will be: Food critic Allan Borgen from KTIE 590AM, "Let's Dine Out" Show, Jose Rodriguez Executive Chef of Kellogg West Conference Center at Cal Poly Pomona and Scott Rudolph, Chef/Instructor of Collins College of Hospitality Management.

Tasting & Auction Celebrates Community and Education
About 900 guests, sponsors and partners enjoyed an afternoon of gourmet food, wine and auctions at Cal Poly Pomona on May 1. The fourth annual Southern California Tasting & Auction, held in the Rose Garden and the Aratani Japanese Garden, raised about $173,000 for student scholarships and academic enrichment opportunities.
