Awareness
This summer the 2002 Heritage Camps will feature a pair of five-day
runs on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, with each session providing
attendees an atmosphere of learning that is both culturally stimulating

Poly Pomona Athletics Department Sponsors 30 Youths at Sports Camps
For the first time, Cal Poly Pomonas Athletic Department is
providing scholarships for local school children to attend the universitys
popular summer sports camps, which can cost from $80 to $300 each.
Coined Budding Broncos, the program is limited to three
schools in its pilot year: Kellogg Polytechnic, Arroyo Elementary
and Marshall Intermediate. The 24 children who received scholarships
showed good citizenship, academic improvement and financial need.

Poly Pomona Students Named Pre-Doctoral Scholars by CSU
Two Cal Poly Pomona students were among 83 recipients of the California
State Universitys 2002-03 Sally Casanova Pre-Doctoral Scholars.
The one-time award acknowledges students from across the CSU system,
providing recipients faculty guidance, summer internships, and funding
