Joy Mangano
Joy Mangano was a New York housewife raising five children when she invented the self-wringing mop she called the "miracle mop." Operating out of her home, her business around her invention and other household products eventually grew to annual sales of over $16 million. An inventor from the time she was a teenager, Mangano's inventions include a fluorescent flea collar (put out a year before Hartz company marketed their version) cleaning products, and several different types of storage containers.
