Course Requirements


Upon completion of course requirements, students will be expected to:
  • Demonstrate an understanding of historical, feminist and social science theories regarding the reciprocal role of technology and culture in shaping representation and identity;
  • Correlate the social meanings of technological tools and the relationship between technological mastery and access to power;
  • Identify the spectrum of technologies and technological practices across cultures and historical time periods;
  • Describe the inventions and contributions to technology by women;
  • Evaluate and infer some of the socio-political ramifications of gender and technologies associated with the information age;
  • Connect waves of technological innovations with changes in patterns of behavior, mass culture and gender constructions.
  • Master and apply the current technologies used during the course.
  • Integrate current technologies to their fields of study.
