What is P-Grad?

Pilipino Graduation (P-Grad) is an opportunity for graduates to celebrate their accomplishments amongst friends and family in an intimate setting that highlights the Pilipino culture that's a part of their lives.

This year's P-Grad will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, June 3, 2007 in Ursa Major at the Bronco Student Center of Cal Poly Pomona.

How did it start?

The idea for P-Grad started when several Pilipino-American students at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona recognized the need for a graduation ceremony that would celebrate Pilipino heritage. After a few years of hard work and planning, the first Pilipino Graduation Celebration was successfully thrown for the Class of 2000.

What do I get?

As a P-Grad Graduate, you'll get:

• a Pilipino Stole
• a P-Grad Plaque engraved with your name and major
• a P-Grad 2007 Souvenir Booklet with your own mini-biography
• time during the celebration to thank the people who have gotten you to this point

What do I need to do?

To participate in P-Grad, you need to:

• Submit an Application Form
• Pay the $30 fee
• Submit your Accomplishments & Special Thank You's for the Souvenir Booklet
• Submit 3 Ads (preferred formats: psd, pdf, jpg)
• Take a P-Grad Picture (appointments 4/30 - 5/4)
• Sign up for at least 1 committee

Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to:

• be a Barkada member
• be Filipino
• graduate from Cal Poly Pomona

Booklet	In charge of putting together the Souvenir Booklet Design layout Put together content
Decorations	In charge of aesthetics for the day of Research prices Come up with ideas Execute ideas
Entertainment	In charge of performances & other entertainment for the day of Ensure quality performances Account for all necessary equipment/feasibility of performance
Food	In charge of refreshments/possibly meal after P-Grad on the day of Research prices for catering Provide eating utensils & drinks
Fundraising	In charge of raising funds throughout the year Come up with ideas Run fundraisers
Media	In charge of media on the day of Compile pictures for the slideshows May make videos
Speech	In charge of any speeches the day of Research & select keynote speaker May come up with graduates' speeches
