General Information:All of my courses follow the course outlines of the History
Department at Cal Poly Pomona. As part of the general education
of Cal Poly Pomona students, History 202 (The United States Since Reconstruction)
offers an introduction to American history. My other classes are upper-division
courses. As such, they require a background of both History 201 and
202, and/or junior/senior status, or special permission from the instructor.
These upper-division courses delve into American history in more depth,
addressing questions of interpretation and multiple perspectives. For
more detail, consult individual course pages.

Intranet Accounts:All of my classes incorporate Internet assignments and the use of
the Intranet on campus.
All assignments and exam study guides are posted on my class web site,
requiring Intranet access. As a student at Cal Poly Pomona, you have
an Intranet account with a password known only to you. You will need
this password to be able to access the class assignment page on my web
site! To check on the status of your Intranet account, you can call
the help
desk (x6776). If you do not yet have such an account, you can get
one by contacting Gee Gee Crews in the Computer Commons (C5-12, extension
3129)!

Student Responsibilities:It is your responsibility to show up for class, keep up with the readings,
pick up assignments and exam guides in time for you to finish the required
work, and turn in assignments on time. Arriving late, leaving early,
sleeping in class, chatting with your neighbors, doing your other homework,
or having beepers and cellular phones turned on during class time are
behaviors unacceptable in class. These behaviors are rude and extremely
disrespectful of your fellow students and your professor. You are also
responsible for following University guide lines on academic
integrity and plagiarism. It is ultimately you who is responsible
for your success in this class, not the professor; not
your fellow students. Take this responsibility seriously.
