
Paid funeral/bereavement leave is provided to eligible employees. The amount of paid days received is based on employee category/collective bargaining identifier.

| Unit 1 (Physicians) | Five (5) days for each death of a significantly close relative. |
| Units 2, 5, 7, 9 (CSEA) | Five (5) days for each death of a significantly close relative or immediate family member. |
| Unit 3 (Faculty) | Two (2) days for each death of an immediate family member, or three (3) days if travel of five hundred (500) miles or more is required. |
| Unit 4 (APC) | For each death of a significantly close person (see CBA for definition), the employee shall be granted up to five (5) days leave with pay. |
| Unit 6 (SETC) | Five (5) days for each death of a significantly close relative or an immediate family member. |
| Unit 8 (SUPA) | Two (2) days for each death of a significantly close person, three (3) days if travel of over five hundred (500) miles roundtrip is required. |
| Unit 11 (UAW) | Not available to employees within this employee category. |
| Management Personnel Plan (MPP) | Five (5) days for each death of an immediate family member or significantly close relative. |
| Confidential (E99) | Five (5) days for each death of an immediate family member or significantly close relative. |
| Executive (M98) | Five (5) days for each death of an immediate family member or significantly close relative. |
| Excluded (E99, Police Officer Cadet only) | Two days for each death of an immediate family member. |
