Every year, the Cesar E. Chavez Center for Higher Education sponsors and co-sponsors numerous education, cultural, and outreach/retention program that are open to and benefit the entire Cal Poly Pomona community. Any Cal Poly Pomona student, faculty, staff or alumni are welcome to assist in planning any of the annual Cesar E. Chavez Center for Higher Education programs listed below.

Dia de los Muertos Celebration

Dia de los Muertos Celebration is an annual cultural event held in November. This program is a collaboration between the Cesar E. Chavez Center for Higher Education and the Ethnic and Women's Studies Department. The Dia de los Muertos Celebration has become an anticipated feastivity and an opportunity for the entire community to come together in celebration of life.

Raza Graduation Celebration

Saturday, May 31, 2014 

The annual RAZA Graduation Celebration is a cultural event held at the end of the academic year.  The program celebrates the success of graduating Chicano/Latino students. The celebration is a bilingual and bicultural celebration where family, friends, community members come together and honor graduating Chicano/Latino students in a culturally enriching program.

Annual Hilda L. Solis Scholarship Dinner & Reception

The Hilda L. Solis Scholarship Dinner and Reception is an annual program held in the Spring quarter. The program is sponsored by the Cesar E. Chevez Center for Higher Education and the Races Alumni Association. It is a program where student success is celebrated and honored by giving scholarships to students that have excelled in their academics, and campus/community service. The event is named after Congresswoman Hilda L. Solis an alumna of Cal Poly Pomona.

Cesar E. Chavez Day of Service Learning

Every year, the Cesar E. Chavez Center for Higher Education sponsors a program that helps to celebrate the life of Cesar E. Chavez while promoting service learning, volunteerism, and community involvement.
