The Co-Curricular Portfolio
Similar to an academic transcript, the Co-Curricular Portfolio lists all of a student's activities outside of the classroom -- ASI student government, athletics, student clubs and organizations, community service, part-time employment, leadership, etc. The categories in the Portfolio include: Personal/Interpersonal, Leadership, Academic, Cultural Awareness, Health & Recreation, Career Development, and Honors and Awards.

Who Can Get A Portfolio?
Any current or former Cal Poly Pomona student. It is a student-directed process. So if you take the simple steps to create a portfolio, you get one! Each student's Cal Poly Pomona ID number secures the portfolio. Portfolio content is governed by the guidelines set forth in the Student Code of Rights and Responsibility; specifically that the student does not "knowingly furnish false information."

The Co-Curricular Portfolio Will Be Extremely Helpful To You In:
   * Preparing your resume
   * Identifying job skills and experience
   * Supplementing graduate school and scholarship applications
   * Accompanying employment applications
   * Making more informed choices about maximizing your time outside of class
   * Retaining more than just an academic transcript to document your college years

Skills:
The Co-Curricular Portfolio includes a section on specific skills that have been acquired or utilized in every activity. Skill development is perhaps the most important career preparation tool. Students who faithfully document their skills on the Portfolio will better understand their strength and capabilities. The skills section helps students translate their college experiences into the job market in terms employers understand and demand.

Development Categories:
Each activity on the Portfolio includes a column listing the area of personal development that applies. The seven options include leadership, Personal/Interpersonal Development, career development, academic, health and recreation, cultural awareness, and honors and awards.
Students can determine how well rounded their involvement is by quickly scanning their Portfolio.

What Does The Portfolio Look Like?
The Portfolio includes a cover page with the student name and the actual Portfolio activities sorted by quarter and year. Here is a sample Portfolio entry in the resume format (there is also a no table format option):
