Mental Health First Aid

Similar to basic first aid when helping others who need assistance, Mental Health First Aid isr training certification course sessions) on how to recognize and help people in a mental health emergency.  The course teaches participants a five-step action plan to assess a situation, and to select and implement interventions and appropriate care for the individual. The certification program introduces
participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact
and provides overview of common treatments.  This CPR-like program is most relevant in situations where the need to respond and offer support to persons who appear to be in emotional distress becomes apparent to  members of the public.

Note:  This is certification workshop.  You must attend the entire day to receive certification.
