The Robert Noyce Scholarship Program for Math and Science Teachers aim is to encourage talented Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) majors and professionals who might otherwise not have considered the teaching profession, particularly people from underrepresented groups, to apply. Each Noyce Scholar can receive up to two years of scholarships with stipends of up to $10,000 per year. Noyce Scholars will be selected by consideration of academic achievement, under-representation and financial need. Preference will be given to those seeking a single subject credential in Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics (not Foundational-Level Mathematics Credential), and Physics. Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis.

Minimum Requirements for STEM Credential Candidates:
  • Have a degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) discipline;
  • Be enrolled in, or have applied to enroll in, or be completing the prerequisites for one of Cal Poly Pomona’s STEM single subject credential programs;
  • Have at most 30 quarter units of study to satisfy the math or science subject matter requirements;
  • Have an overall undergraduate GPA and a GPA in math, science, and technology courses no lower than 3.0, preferably with a GPA above 3.0;
  • Have an overall GPA of 3.4 in credential coursework;
  • Be a US citizen, national, or permanent resident alien
