Objectives
To desensitize the students to open discussion of the topic
of sexuality.
To familiarize the students with:
a) internal and external sexual anatomy
b) physiologic functions of sexual anatomy
c) physiologic and/or psychologic sexual dysfunction
d) psymptoms and treatments for infections of the sexaul and
sexually related organs
e) the influence of sex hormones on the human body
f) covert and overt expression of children's sexuality
g) methods of birth control and the birth process
h) the need for sexual communication, verbal and nonverbal
Textbook
The textbook for this course is Our Sexuality, 7th Edition,
by Crooks and Baur which is available in the bookstore. The chapters,
which cover each topic, are listed on the course syllabus.
Grading
Your final letter grade will be based on scores for two mid-term
exams and a final exam which are scheduled on the syllabus. Exams
will be given on the dates specified and at no other. By signing
up for this course, you are agreeing to this policy and recognizing
that there will be no exceptions to this rule. Exams are
multiple choice. Bring a Scantron form (50 on each side). There
are no extra credit or projects offered. Plus and minus grades
may be given.
