Bipin A. Shah
Kovair Software, CEO & Chairman
A senior executive with a proven track record, Bipin Shah is currently the CEO and chairman of Kovair Software, a privately held company based in Milpitas, California. He is also a successful early-stage investor in more than a dozen companies and is co-founder and managing general partner if INC3 Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund that invests in high technology companies.
Shah has more than 30 years of experience in various technical and executive management positions at Fairchild Semiconductor; Altera Corporation where he served as vice president of operations and president of Altera Japan; CEO of Invox Technology, a semiconductor start-up company in the late 1990s whose multi-level Flash memory technology was acquired by SanDisk Corporation. Shah is one of the founding charter members of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) that promotes entrepreneurship and the mentoring of young entrepreneurs and has served on both the executive committee and the board of the organization.
He is not only active in the high technology business world but also with several philanthropic and non-profit organizations. He has been Chairman of the Board and past president for the Jain Center of Northern California. He also serves on the board of directors for the Cupertino Education Endowment Foundation for the Cupertino Union School District. Shah is involved with Ekal Vidyalay Foundation USA, which is dedicated to forming 100,000 one-teacher primary schools for basic literacy enhancement in rural India. He is a charter sponsor and a member of the advisory board of the Ahimsa Center at Cal Poly Pomona, which focuses on interdisciplinary teaching and learning about nonviolence and its practical applications at various levels.
Shah holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a bachelor’s in the same field from Jadavpur University, India. He and his wife, Rekha, live in Atherton, California, and they have three grown children.
