Martin Jeffrey King (Jeff)
King's Seafood Company, Co-Founder & CEO
A prominent figure in the restaurant industry for
more than 35 years, Martin Jeffrey King is co-founder
and CEO of King’s Seafood Company, one of the fastest
growing seafood restaurant groups in the West. King
and his cousin Sam have established a chain of family-friendly
seafood-inspired restaurants, King’s Fish
House (12), which are located in numerous Southern
California cities along with one located in Henderson,
Nevada. The first restaurant they opened as a team
was 555 East Steakhouse in Long Beach, and the
chain includes Lou & Mickey’s restaurants, named for
Jeff’s and Sam’s fathers. King’s Seafood Company also
operates King’s Seafood Distribution, an exclusive
operation catering to the restaurant chain.
Jeff King’s involvement encompasses more than the restaurant business and includes board service on several community and industry-related boards such as the Los Angeles Central City Association, the Santa Monica Chamber Board and the California Restaurant Association, which he has been actively involved with for 20 years. His networking experience from grad school to government will be essential as the restaurant industry faces important issues such as immigration, minimum wage increases and healthcare reforms both in California and at the federal level. King also serves on the Board of Directors of The Collins School of Hospitality Management. As an NDC member, King is interested in the growth of the Collins School and consolidation of California State University programs.
King graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1961 with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science. He and his wife, Ellen, have five children and four grandchildren.
