Ronald W. Gregoire (Ron)
Comprehensive Campaign, Vice Chair, Endowment
After an impressive and successful career as an auto dealer, Ronald Gregoire devotes his time to supporting his community and the university. He graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a bachelor’s in accounting in 1971, became a CPA and began auditing car dealerships. Following the purchase of Cerritos Ford, ranked by sales volume in the top 5 percent of the largest Ford dealers in the nation, Gregoire acquired Lincoln Mercury, Infiniti and Isuzu dealerships, which consistently rank among the top sellers in California. He was twice named a director of the California Motor Car Dealers Association and served on the exclusive Lincoln Mercury Future Product Development Committee.
Through the dealerships, Gregoire provided two vans annually to the Los Angeles Police Department for its community youth services program. He also sponsors youth athletic leagues and contributes to charities, local civic organizations and performing arts groups.
Gregoire is a generous donor to the university and endowed a scholarship for an outstanding student in the College of Business Administration through the President’s Council Scholarship program. He was named a Distinguished Alumnus in 2001 and inducted into the Accounting Hall of Fame in 1996. He has served on the University Educational Trust, the President’s Council, the Business Advisory Council and has been involved with Ambassadors for Higher Education.
Gregoire has four children. He enjoys traveling, playing golf and tennis, skiing and splitting his time between homes in Palm Desert and Park City, Utah.
