Michael Ferguson (Mike)
Stephens Media Group, Chief Executive Officer
University Educational Trust (UET), Liaison
Michael Ferguson’s rise in the newspaper industry began at the ground level. As a young boy growing up in Pomona, Ferguson made extra money delivering the Pomona Progress Bulletin. Twenty-six years later, he returned to his roots, but this time served as the publisher of the newly merged Inland Valley Daily Bulletin from 1991-1999.
Along the way, he attended Mt. San Antonio Community College before transferring to Cal Poly Pomona where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in history in 1973.
Now based in Las Vegas, Ferguson is vice president and chief operating officer of the Stephens Media Group, which includes the Las Vegas Review Journal. Yet he has always found time to stay close to the Inland Empire. He has been an active member of the Cal Poly Pomona University Education Trust, United Way, American Red Cross, Rotary International and the Los Angeles County Fair Association.
Mike and his wife, Kathy, raised their three children in the area. Stacie and Jacob Ferguson may not have ink under their nails like their father does, but they did follow in his footsteps. They both went on to earn their degrees from his alma mater, choosing to pursue degrees from The Collins College of Hospitality Management.
