Welcome to My Homepage
My name is Ming Zhong and I'm from Shen Zhen, Guang Dong, China. Having stayed in Guang Dong for more than 19 years, I finally made up my mind to go to the United States to study Computational Mathematics
Introduction
Now I'm a graduate student working on my Doctor of Philosophy (Back in the good old days, a doctoral degree in math was kind of equivalent to a degree in philosophy, however I promise I will not confuse you with any philosophical puzzles on any pages here.) degree in Pure Mathematics. Beside of having a lot of interests in Math, I also like Computer Science (espcially computer games), and Physics (I've been a Physics tutor at MaSH for two quarters), cars (I sold my MazdaSpeed3 :( how sad!), musics, books (trying to finish Dan Brown's Angels and Demons, and yes I know I've been wanting to finish this book for more than two years), and traveling (mainly by car). Let me give you some more details of myself. I grew up in Shen Zhen, a beautiful city to the north of Hong Kong. Being one of the most innovative cities in China, Shen Zhen has provided me excellent opportunities to grow up with a solid background in Mathematics. Due to my adventurous nature, I decided to pick a place far away from home to continue my passionate dream for Mathematics. In fact, it takes only 16 (I guess, I just moved) hours for me to fly back to Hong Kong from New York City, and another 2 hours bus ride to get home. And luckily enough I know how to quickly fall asleep once I board the plane. I love all kinds of pets, though I only had four cats, one dog, one rabbit before. I can easily get addictive to games, strategy games, RPG (Role Playing Games). I've had a lot of game consoles, such as Nintendo, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Play Station 2, and Play Station Portable. And I also play those online games, like WoW (World of Warcraft) and EQ (EverQuest)
Having graduated from Cal Poly Pomona, with a Master of Science degree in Pure Mathematics (yeah, finally), I marched on to doctoral school to pursue more rigorous Mathematics. Consequently, I got myself admitted to this doctoral program from the Department of Mathematics of the City University of New York,Graduate School and University Center. I intended to get my doctoral degree in Probability Theory, Stochastic Processes, Stochastic Differential Equations, Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Ordinary/Partial Differential Equations, or Mathematical Modeling; However I do not limit myself. I'm also interested in Number Theory, Differential Geometry and subjects related to Theoretical Physics, Artificial Intelligence, Algorithms. Suggestion: Links here will mostly pop out a new window in order to keep my pages present, so if you have some pop-up blocker, you won't be able to read the information from the links provided. Make yourself at home and have fun looking around.
