SUMMER QUARTER 2002 EVENTS

 

~There will be NO MSA meeting during the Summer Unfortunately 

- Insha-Allah we will still keep you updated on events going on in Southern Cali through email. If you are a Freshman, or a transfer student and wants to know more about the MSA, please feel free to email us at msa@csupomona.edu.

The MSA will be on campus during Orientation Club Fair on the dates of July 17th, 22nd, and August 19th. The club fair will be in front of the Union during the times of 2:30 - 3:30pm.

~ MSA's 3rd Annual Dinner Banquet, 

      "Struggles of Temptations"

Alhumdullilah, we will have our annual banquet, which will be our big end of the year event. The banquet will consist of great speakers, presentations by our member, and of course great FOOD! Please, Insha-Allah, bring your whole family, and all your friends as this event is designed to crater to Muslims, and non-Muslims alike.

~"Surviving The Oppression" Palestinian Refugee Elham Bayour

Please attend this event which will feature Elham Bayour, a Palestinian Refugee. She will present her experiences in Palestine, and present a slide show.

We will have a bowling event, with the purpose to strengthen our MSA bonds

At our next Friday night discussion we will go over the seerah of Prophet Muhammad(s.a.w). Please, attend and strengthen you Islamic knowledge and Iman.

~MSA Newsmagazine (al Sirat)

Insha-Allah, if are interested in helping out with the first ever MSA newsmagazine

on our campus, please email our MSA at msa@csupomona.edu, all the help we can get

will help tremendously. You can be involved in writing articles, designing, or editing.


~Imam Ali Siddiqui , Insha-Allah, will give Jumah Khutbah every first Friday of the month, Please attend! Imam Ali Siddiqui was once MSA President, he is a Cal Poly Pomona Alumni.

The main purpose of this rally is to spread the awareness of the situation of the Palestinian people, and to speak out against injustice. Bring all your friends, and classmates. Please wear your MSA t-shirts!!

Presentation on the ongoing crisis in Iraq involving the harsh U.N. sanctions, and a view of the humanitarian situation. Discussion, and PowerPoint presentation.

~ ISLAM AWARENESS WEEK!! Feb. 4th - 8th  

Insha-Allah we will have our first official IAW this quarter.

Insha-Allah the week will be filled with many activities

and events, Our first activity is listed below!

     - Lecture "JIHAD"

        Imam Muzammil Siddiqi will start off our activities for Islam Awareness

 Week with a lecture on the topic of Jihad. Imam Muzammil Siddiqi is a very

distinguish Muslim speaker, and leader in the Muslim ummah. Insha-Allah you will be able to attend the program!

shed some light on why America is a target for terrorism.

ASI is holding a club fair for all clubs. Insha-Allah our MSA

    -MPAC Convention "The Rising Voice of Moderate Muslims"

MPAC (Muslim Public Affairs Council) will be holding a convention to

unite the Muslim community, and discuss the current problems facing

the Muslim ummah. Please attend. May Allah(s.w.t) reward you for your

efforts.

FALL QUARTER 2001 EVENTS

 

    - Ninth, and FINAL meeting of Fall Quarter November 29th, 12-1pm, Building 66-101. Sister Maha Hamoui  unfortunately will not be at our meeting . MSA T-Shirts our HERE!! Pass by and buy some, they are $20 each, they are very nice looking. Remember to attend Jumah Salaat every Friday in room 202 in the bookstore, starts around 1:15pm, Insha-Allah!     ~Ramadan Iftars, Please Attend INSHA-ALLAH!!!

There will be a Iftar on Friday, November 23rd, at Brother Rami's house. The Iftar will start around 4:40pm. For directions please email our msa, at msa@csupomona.edu.

~MSA social/fundrasing event to improve Muslim Brother/Sister hood!!

And to Provide Relief Funds For The Afghanistan Refugees  

Insha-Allah the event will be bowling, Yea! The proceeds from the 

fundraising efforts will directly go to the Islamic Relief Worldwide(IRW)'s 

program "Afghanistan Appeal" Emergency Relief

for the Afghan Refugees. We must do what we can to help our brothers, 

and Sisters in Afghanistan. Fundraiser will work by getting people to

sponsor you in the bowling event by the amount of points you get. Also

people may give flat donations.

This is the second lecture is the series of ISLAM 101 programs to come.

The outline of program is to educate the Cal Poly Pomona community about

the importance of the month of Ramadan, and the attributes that the

month brings with it. The program will cover brief basics of 

Islam also!

The speaker for the program is the well known Islamic Scholar

~Community Event: Lecture on schools of Thought by Sheikh Tareq

This is a Youth program, aimed to inform the youth about different

schools of thought and their teachings!
