Patricia Mucino is the new Retention Coordinator for the Maximizing Engineering Potential program in the College of Engineering. Patricia’s student services experience includes career counseling and academic advising as well as workshops and lesson plans on a variety of first year experience and career planning topics in both two and four-year college settings. Patricia also brings with her program planning, policy development and administration, assessment, and research experience. She is a second author on Cal Poly Pomona’s Campus Climate White Paper, synthesizing almost 20 years of quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate the University’s progress in regards to campus climate. Her positions in the Cal Poly Pomona Career Center, Dean of Students and Judicial Affairs Office, the Cesar E. Chavez Center for Higher Education, and the Counseling Division at Orange Coast College have provided her a solid foundation with which to implement retention programs and services for the MEP community. Patricia received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona in 2007. This year, she will be completing her thesis on Latino males in developmental education at California community colleges and will graduate from Cal State Long Beach with a Master of Science in counseling. |
