What is MEISA?
The Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association is an organization comprised of college and university students with an interest in the music and entertainment industries. Students can gain both experience and the opportunity to network with industry professionals through local, regional, and national activities and events.
Local events may include seminars, workshops, tours, campus and off-campus concerts, community service projects, mixers, career fairs, contests, and student-run companies such as record labels, publishing companies, and promotion companies.
Regional conferences are held in the fall, and the international conference is held in the spring. This year, Cal Poly Pomona will host the international conference. During these conferences, MEISA members participate in a wide variety of workshops, panels, and career fairs to engage them in the music and entertainment industries, as well as allow them to connect with industry professionals as well as other students from across the region or even the country.
MEISA members are also recognized for their accomplishments during the international conference. MEISA members may participate in the scholarship essay contest, National Battle of the Bands contest, and the Outstanding MEISA Chapter Award competition. The national MEISA executive board and regional representatives are also elected at this time.
