Cal Poly Pomona's Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association (MEISA) presents: Best of Cal Poly Pomona Battle of the Bands Saturday May 21st 2011.
The top band will earn the ultimate band package, which includes a $500 cash prize, a headlining show at Aladdin Jr. presented by The Noise Academy, Ernie Ball prize package, and more TBA.
Eligibility:
1) At least one member of the submitting band must be a Cal Poly Pomona student, alumni, or faculty.
2) Bands must be available to perform at the scheduled Best of Cal Poly Pomona: Battle of the Bands at Cal Poly Pomona Saturday May 21st.
All genres are accepted! Original songs only though, no cover bands.
Please submit the following to CPPMEISA@GMAIL.COM by Wednesday, April 27th at midnight with the subject line "I WANT TO PLAY BATTLE OF THE BANDS"
1) Band Name
2) Three original songs via website or email (MP3s only)
3) Name of Cal Poly Pomona student, alumni, or faculty band member(s)
4) Band contact name, email, and phone number
ONLY SUBMISSIONS RECEIVED BY 11:59:59PM PST ON APRIL 27TH WILL BE CONSIDERED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Judging Process:
Entries will go through an initial screening process. All submissions will be judged on quality of material, musicianship, innovation, and potential. Selected bands will be announced on Friday, April 29th and will play on May 21st. They will be evaluated by a panel of judges comprised of music industry professionals. Winner takes all.

MEISA stands for Music & Entertainment Industry Student Association. CPP MEISA is a non-profit organization comprised of students who share an interest in the music and entertainment industry. CPP MEISA organizes and participates in various networking events, workshops, and concerts that enable the membership to gain experience in the industry.
Today, CPP MEISA is well established organization and has hosted three successful conferences: the 2004 and 2005 MEISA Western Regional Conferences and the MEIEA/MEISA International Conference in 2007. Within the last two years, we have participated in several Guerilla Union events such as Rock the Bells, Paid Dues, and the Sunset Strip Block Party. Volunteer opportunities with Guerilla Union have given our members hands-on experience with concert production.
